Dr. Thio’s speech at the Aware EGM, hard to hear as it was above all the screaming, produced a few excellent memes, the most popular being “I’m on Page 73.”

She was referring to the fact she appeared in a book naming female pioneers in Singapore. She was the first female dean of NUS’ faculty of Law.

This video is hand held so quite shaky. It’s compressed from the High Definition original. As far as I know, this is the only full video of her speech.

I have to give Dr. Thio her props: she seemed to keep her humour about the fact she was entirely despised. The nickname that emerged for her was Darth Vader. I think Jeff Vader would have been more appropriate.

The boys sell dreams to their female clients, holding back on sex as long as the cash keeps flowing. The punchline? Many are making 6 figure salaries playing weekend Cassanova.
