Abortion and Contraception facts you should own.

Facts liberals need to own. And by that I mean people like me:
- Planned Parenthood is the largest single performer of abortion in the US performing 300,000 abortions annually which accounts for >30% of all abortions in the US. So while they perform a  lot of other valuable services, it is not right to say their involvement in abortion is a minor activity in the grand scheme of things.
- Most of the women who seek abortions had sex willingly, made a decision to end the pregnancy and faced no special threatening medical conditions.  Yes there are a lot of reasons women may want or need an abortion. But if you agree with the good reasons / bad reasons narrative, it condemns most women seeking abortion to being morally flawed. They aren’t. And suggesting they are creates stigma and shame. Don’t participate in that.
- In the long run, most contraception fails. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be used. It makes a HUGE difference to pregnancy rates. But over 10+ years, the chance of a fuck up are high.
- Most women who get an abortion have already had at least one child. Sixty-one percent of women who seek abortions already have at least one child. More than a third already have at least two children. It is a tool for family planning when other forms of contraception fail.
These don’t need to be scary facts. Just own them and move on.

All good points — except on the first, it is important to note that Planned Parenthood could well be responsible for > 30% of the abortions in the US, and still providing abortions could constitute <5% of their activities. This would just mean that abortions are a tiny fraction of the sexual health services taken up overall – which is as it should be, really. But it would, then, be fair to say that 'their involvement in abortion is a minor activity' in the overall scheme of Planned Parenthood's activities.

It is a minor part or what they do for sure. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t a big player. The two facts are not contradictions.
